Blind Bartimaeus cries out first to be seen by Jesus, and then begs to be able to see; the same is our cry. We long for the love of God in Christ Jesus to penetrate to the depths of our souls and to the souls of the perpetrators of this past week’s attempted bombings and the violent death of eleven devout Jewish people.  May God’s love soothe the grief of the families and members of the Tree of Life Synagogue.  May the blindness of hatred and division yield to bright vision of one people: God’s people.   The Gospel and Pastor’s sermon follows….
