Sermon:   “Give It Up for God”

The First Sunday in Lent        March 5, 2017       Scripture:   Romans 5:12-19

Giving up something for Lent: familiar to us from past history—whether candy, coffee or cookies.  But let’s look at this in another way.  Give it up, meaning reactions to things that are unkind and hurtful to others.  Give it up means to stop, give silence a chance, and then especially, God’s grace for transformation.

Don’t forget to “Give it up for God” in the manner of inviting applause for God’s goodness and grace.
