Suffering is inevitable, but how we respond is optional. I share the experience of our Havanese dog, Bongo, with us today. He, like Gina and I, is missing our 12 year old Maltese, Kewpie, whom we had to put down this week.
I relate the story of Ignatius Loyola who found the Lord through a long recovery from a severely injured knee.
God invested divine love into Jesus who embraces our pain through the cross and “The joy set before him” (Hebrews 12:2).
What can do in the wake of suffering?
