Sermon: “Transfigure Skating”
Transfiguration Sunday – February 11, 2018
Pastor Nick proclaims the Gospel – Mark 9:2-9
Ice Dancing is “transfigure skating.” The inter-dependence of the two skaters and the vulnerability of the female dancer being held by the male dancer, suggest that God is transforming, transfiguring our lives by always being with us and holding us up in the dance of life.
The Winter Olympics and the power of images and countries at odds coming together in a meaningful way, remind us of the power of symbols to “transmute energy” (Carl Jung.)
